Athensis Group are headquartered in London.

Interpath Advisory’s former chair will lead the City-headquartered, sustainability-focused consultancy Anthesis Group as its new chair, as its chief executive steps down.

Tamara Box, previously City law firm Reed Smith‘s managing partner for Europe and the Middle East, is set to take on the new chair of Anthesis Group’s board of directors this week after Derek Kemp steps down after less than two years at the firm.

Box’s appointment comes as it was confirmed on Tuesday that chief executive Matthew Bell will leave the leadership role. A global search for a successor is underway, but in the meantime, Box, alongside chief financial and operations officer Ray Leclercq and chief people officer Rebecca Pashley-Robinson, will lead the firm.

She joined the firm after serving as chair of restructuring firm Interpath Advisory from 2024 for two years, following her role as an independent board director after the company’s 2021 sale by its former owner, Big Four accounting giant KPMG, to private equity group HIG Capital.

Anthesis Group helps organisations and businesses make their operations more sustainable, including through net zero planning, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting, and changing business models and supply chains to focus on responsible sourcing.

The firm works with the retail, technology, food and beverage, and finance sectors, with clients including Tesco, L’Oréal, Microsoft, Amazon, and PayPal.

“Anthesis has a critical role to play in helping global businesses navigate the profound strategic, operational and financial consequences of the sustainability transition,” Box said.

Box added her “ambition as chair is to help Anthesis build on its strong foundations, sharpen its strategic focus and accelerate its growth — bringing together exceptional expertise, commercial discipline and an unwavering focus on delivering measurable value for clients.”

Anthesis Group said Box joins the firm as it “pursues its ambition to become the world’s leading specialist partner for sustainable business
performance.”

Interpath chief fined for confidentiality breaches

Interpath Advisory’s chief executive, Mark Raddan, was fined in August for allegedly breaching confidentiality standards before the company was sold to private equity group HIG Capital for £400m and became the largest restructuring firm in the UK by headcount.

The UK’s accounting body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), said Raddan, a former KPMG board member, was “severely reprimanded” and ordered to pay a financial penalty of £8000 after breaking confidentiality rules on two separate occasions following an investigation.
