Former Premier League ref claims he was told to say he hadn’t seen incidents by authorities
A former Premier League referee has claimed he was instructed by the refereeing body to say he had not seen particular incidents.
Retired ref Mark Halsey wrote on Twitter that the Professional Games Match Official Limited (PGMOL) had told him to claim he had not seen incidents when they were making a decision on retrospective punishments.
The 55-year-old made the comments in reference to the recent controversy surrounding Sergio Aguero's retrospective three match ban from the FA for appearing to elbow West Ham's Winston Reid in last weekend's Premier League fixture.

"I have been in that situation when I have seen an incident and been told to say I haven't seen it," Halsey wrote on Twitter.
"To be fair to the FA… it's not them," he said when asked who gave him such instructions.
"It comes from within the PGMOL."
