Former SNP MP facing second police probe over claims of financial discrepancies
Glasgow East MP Natalie McGarry is facing a second investigation into alleged financial discrepancies.
McGarry withdrew from the SNP party whip after a police investigation was launched last November, linked to allegations for missing donations from Women for Independence, a campaign group she founded.
And Police Scotland have today confirmed it had received a second report, which is understood to be linked to the SNP's Glasgow regional association.
McGarry was one-time convenor of the association.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police have received a report in relation to the Glasgow regional association and enquiries are continuing.”
McGarry was elected to Westminster as one of a wave of new MPs last May, but currently sits as an independent.
McGarry could not be reached for comment.
An SNP spokesperson said: “It would be inappropriate to comment while these matters are being considered.”
