Former Ukip leader Nigel Farage mulls bid for London mayor 2020
Former Ukip leader Nigel Farage is mulling making a bid to become the next London mayor.
The pro-Brexit politician, who has a slot on London radio station LBC five days a week, would go up against incumbent Sadiq Khan and one of the three Conservative candidates currently vying for the nomination.
“I have been encouraged to [stand] by a group of people, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to,” he said in an interview with the Financial Times published this morning. “I haven’t said no to it, I’m thinking about it.”

Although he has been MEP for the South East of England since 1999, winning four of the five elections he stood for, Farage has failed on seven separate occasions to win a seat in the House of Commons.
His most recent attempt, during the 2015 General Election, saw him secure 32.4 per cent of the vote in South Thanet.
