Gallery: Spectacular Great Fire of London 350th anniversary display
Thousands of Londoners poured down to the side of the Thames this evening for a glimpse of a truly spectacular fire display.
A 120 metre barge, carrying a wooden reconstruction of Canada as it was more than three centuries ago, was set alight to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of 1666.
The reconstruction of the skyline was designed by American artist David Best.
The burning of the model City was just one of a number of commemorative events held across the capital this weekend to mark the occasion. Pictures of flames were also shone onto the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral and a fire garden was set up at the Tate Modern.
