Give Emit some Love in the Ebor

EUROPE’s richest handicap, the Ebor (3.35pm), headlines Saturday’s card from York.

We’re already in a good position in this fiercely competitive contest, having taken an ante-post position on EMIT at 25/1 a few weeks ago.

Joseph O’Brien’s four-year-old looks set to go off as one of the favourites for this, with a current best price of 7/1, meaning we’ve got some excellent early value.

Ryan Moore takes the ride, and Emit looks to hold leading claims off the same mark as when finishing fourth at Ascot.

It could be well worth also having an each-way saver on Willie Mullins’ LOVE ME TENDER.

He has arrived from Germany, having won his first two starts and finished last season with a good fourth place finish in the Listed Grand Prix du Nord on testing ground at Chantilly.

Now starting off with Mullins, who has won this race twice in the last three years, and on what could prove to be a lenient mark, he looks a danger to all.

Connections had another horse entered in here which they have pulled out and clearly feel that they have a very well-handicapped horse to go to war with.

In the day’s opening contest, the Group Three Strensall Stakes (1.50pm), GERYON looks worth a bet 11/2.

He caught the eye on his last start in the Group Three Gordon Stakes at Goodwood, but failed to see out the final stages of that mile-and-a-half contest as strongly as the winner.

Now back in trip to the same distance over which he won a Group Three at Leopardstown on his penultimate start, he looks set to go well.
