A global week for passing things on
GLOBAL entrepreneurship week has come to London, and this year it’s all about passing on. Sponsored by Barclays, the idea is for experienced entrepreneurs to give early start-ups and their founders the practical help they need to turn an idea into a business. But with more than 2,500 events taking place across the country, you might find it difficult to know your pop-up compliance masterclass from your digital marketing tea time. So here’s a selection of the very best:
■ The British Library kicks off the week today with a pop-up business village in its Euston Road location. Experts will offer advice on everything from finance and funding to intellectual property and branding. The free event ends tomorrow, so don’t miss your chance to attend masterclasses from Dragon Doug Richard and finance expert Johnny Martin.
■ Also at the British Library, the Future50 list of up and coming high growth businesses will be announced on Wednesday. It’s not just an awards show, however. Sponsored by Wonga, it will offer in-depth analysis of what it takes for a UK business to achieve real growth in a difficult environment.
