Gunners appeal Koscielny red

FOOTBALL: Arsenal have appealed against the sending off of defender Laurent Koscielny in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle. The Gunners are arguing that Koscielny was wrongfully dismissed for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. The move risks the Football Association deeming the appeal frivolous and extending it from one match to two.
