I may not have experience in top flight but I can do job, says Laws
INCOMING Burnley manager Brian Laws has told critics that his lack of Premier League experience will not hinder his mission to keep the Clarets in the top flight.
Laws, who began his playing career at Turf Moor, yesterday returned to the club to sign a contract to succeed Owen Coyle until summer 2012.
The 48-year-old, who left Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent in December after a disappointing run, has only ever managed two other teams: the less than illustrious pair of Grimsby and Scunthorpe.
But Laws, whose first fixture is a daunting visit from champions Manchester United on Saturday, said: “I want to be challenged with the best. Just because it’s not on my CV and I haven’t worked in the Premier League doesn’t necessarily say I can’t do the job. I’m a manager and I manage football clubs.”
