Ikea releases kama sutra guide for bedroom satisfaction

Swedish furniture retailer Ikea has released a "kama sutra" e-book that presents an array of options for positions that bedroom furniture could be displayed in.

The US marketing campaign includes a 44-page e-book with illustrations of various styles accompanied by kama sutra phrases as well as a TV advert.

The advert begins by saying: "Are you getting enough satisfaction in your bedroom?"

The world's largest retailer is referring to satisfaction with the style and decoration of the bedroom, but has leaned on the ancient Indian Sanskrit text on sexuality to display them, using comic sketches.

The design team behind the e-book said it derived from the “ancient belief that every individual should have a bedroom space that satisfies their needs on both a physical and spiritual level”.

“This illustrated book, filled with ingenious positions and detailed illustrations is made to inspire lifelong satisfaction and help you master the art of loving your bedroom,” they added.

It is not yet clear whether Ikea UK will use the same marketing strategy.
