Italy crash out, USA go through
FOOTBALL: The USA turned on the style to crush Egypt 3-0 and reach the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup last night. The Americans lost both their previous two matches but Brazil’s 3-0 victory over world champions Italy in the other game, ensured they went through on goal difference at the expense of Egypt and Italy. Fulham’s Clint Dempsey was among the USA scorers.
