It’s take off for Gordon Ramsay Group’s Plane Food as it secures a 10-year Heathrow deal
Gordon Ramsay Group has secured a 10-year extension of its Plane Food restaurant at Heathrow’s Terminal 5.
The restaurant will close for 12 weeks next year as it undergoes a makeover, before reopening in July, when it will boast a new bar along with the creation of semi-private dining areas.
Plane Food opened in Heathrow back in 2008, costing £2.5m to build, and today serves more than 800 customers with à la carte dining, 25-minute Express menus and “on-board picnics” a day.

It was chef Gordon Ramsay's first airport restaurant – in 2013 he announced plans to take the concept to airports across the US too.
In an interview with Morning Wire last month, Ramsay discussed the prospects of Brexit for the UK.
"Brexit is going to give every country the freedom to become a little powerhouse, individually," he said.
"It will make countries reinvest locally. It may seem tempestuous to begin with, the jeopardy of not being part of the European safety-net. But it will be an advantage; that’s as a chef, as a businessman and as a customer.”
