Labour HQ fire: Brewers Green office evacuated and fire brigade called to nearby office

Labour's headquarters at one Brewers Green have been evacuated after a fire nearby.

Staff evacuated the building in Westminster and London Fire Brigade attended the scene, however, the incident is not serious.

After hard left Jeremy Corbyn won a landslide victory in the Labour leadership contest causing a rift in the party, the events caused much amusement on Twitter.

Corbyn was in the Houses of Parliament down the road for his first appearance in the Commons at the helm of the party ot hear the Trade Union Bill being debated. 

Update: 

London Fire Brigade said it was called to a small fire at 5.14pm, caused by refuse at the bottom of a redundant lift shaft in the office block being renovated. Crews from Soho and Lambeth attended and were done a the scene just before 6pm.
