London investor Dawn Capital leads $11m series A fundraise in tech firm Onna

London venture capital firm Dawn Capital led a $11m series A funding round in data management platform Onna, which provides software to customers such as Facebook, Dropbox and Fitbit.

The round was supported by Dropbox, Slack Fund and existing early investor Nauta Capital, and the funding will be used to grow Onna’s central information access product.

Norman Fiore, a general partner at Dawn Capital who has previously invested in Mimecast, Collibra and Showpad, will join Onna’s board.

Fiore said: “Helping employees find, organise and protect crucial business information when it sits across all these apps is a big challenge.

“Onna’s solution has already seen great traction in Ediscovery with a legal use case, with annual recurring revenue having more than tripled over the past year.

“But Salim and the team at Onna rightly recognise the opportunity is much bigger. By building an internal search engine for enterprise and giving all employees fast access to their own information, Onna can be an industry game changer.”

“Our vision is to enable the enterprise and its people with their information, by centralising it, organising and feeding it to user authorised applications,” Salim Elkhou, founder and chief executive of Onna, added.

The investment follows a previous seed funding round of $5m, raised in October 2017.
