Majority of UK tenants prepared to pay more for furnished homes

LONDON, ENGLAND - OCTOBER 26: General view of houses in Maida Vale on October 26, 2020 in London, England. As many young people renting rooms have left the capital due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, rents are dropping and in some places have fallen by a third. Aldgate has seen a 34% fall in price per room, whilst prices in Little Venice and Maida Vale dropped by 20%. The average rent drop for a room in London's Zone one dropped by 11% in comparison to this time last year. (Photo by Peter Summers/Getty Images)

A furnished rental home can improve your chances of finding a tenant and may increase the monthly level of rental income secured, according to new research by Manor Interiors.

The firm have found that over a quarter of UK tenants would more likely view a rental property if it was already furnished. Another 26 per cent they would actually rent a property that was furnished that one which wasn’t.

In fact, tenants are prepared to pay more per month for a secured, well-furnished property, the research found.

The rental property space is extremely competitive so many landlords now offer homes that are furnished in order to stand out in the crowded market.

“The modern-day tenant values style and quality and so furnishing a property with below-par furniture is more likely to deter them rather than attract them,” explained the CEO of Manor Interiors, Farhan Malik.
