UK Trade & Investment, the government body that fights for overseas trade, has said Lord Mandelson’s visit to China has netted $500m (£302m) worth of deals for British businesses. The body said the business secretary’s visit has made a slew of contracts and new investment deals possible, as the UK’s low carbon industry becomes increasingly attractive to the Asian giant. “Across the board, the UK can offer the knowledge, technology and experience to help our two economies de-carbonise,” Mandelson said on the visit.
