By MOTOR RACING great Nigel Mansell says Silverstone is the world’s finest circuit after the track’s £27m redevelopment was unveiled yesterday.

The venue’s new wing boasts revamped pits and paddock as well as media and conference facilities, which will be showcased at the British Grand Prix on 10 July.

Mansell said: “Silverstone is the best circuit I know by a mile. It’s the best in the world for me, bar none.”

The complex was designed by the architects behind London’s 2012 Olympic Stadium. Work began last year after Silverstone secured a 17-year deal to host the flagship race.

British Racing Drivers’ Club president Damon Hill said it would ensure Britain stayed “at the forefront of motor sport around the world”.
