May: Trump was being a “gentleman” when he held my hand
Prime Minister Theresa May has insisted that US President Donald Trump was "being a gentleman" when he was pictured holding her hand as the two walked outside the White House earlier this year.
May was the first state leader to visit Trump after his inauguration, and an interview with American Vogue has seen the Prime Minister offer her thoughts on Trump.
Asked what she made of Trump, May said: "I like to think we got on. I mean obviously he has, uh … it was a stunning election victory given that he's someone who has not been involved in politics."
She adding that a famous photo of the two holding hands was a reflection of the US President's courtesy.

"We were about to walk down a ramp, and he said it might be a bit awkward," the Prime Minister said. "I think he was actually being a gentleman."
May also shrugged off comparisons with former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and asked to cite her core values, named "opportunity, freedom, security".
"I think it's very important that we always ensure we maintain the fundamental freedoms that we have. Because if you lose your freedoms, then actually the terrorists have started to win."
