Mayor to lobby EU in Brussels
Mayor of London Boris Johnson will this week urge European internal markets commissioner Charlie McCreevy to dilute measures aimed at tightening up regulation of the alternative investment industry. Johnson, who is travelling to Brussels tomorrow, will tell McCreevy that the European Commission’s draft directive on alternative investment managers threatens to drive the industry out of Europe.
