More commuter misery as flooding disrupts Thameslink trains at Farringdon and St Pancras

There is more commuter misery for your Friday afternoon thanks to flooding between St Pancras and Farringdon stations.
 
A burst water main is the culprit for the disruption to the Thameslink service, with National Rail confirming that only “a limited number” of trains will be able to make their way through the affected area. 
 
Bad news if you're hoping to cross London. Trains north of the city centre will only run between Bedford/Luton and West Hampstead. If you're heading to Wimbledon or Brighton, you'll have to get to City Thameslink first.
 
Delays are expected in any case. 
 
Thameslink has said it is not clear how long the flooding will disrupt the line, but it “is likely to be until the end of service”.

It is advising alternative routes including London buses, London Underground “on any reasonable route”, Southern services and the Gatwick Express. 
 
However that hasn't prevented commuters venting their frustration (or amusement) on social media.
