More trouble for Green as Arcadia depot staff to strike over wages
Workers at Arcadia’ distribution arm, who are part of the GMB union, voted for fresh industrial action yesterday.
Staff members at Spectrum for Arcadia, a division of the DHL Logistics Supply Chain, are set to walk out today and then again on Monday in support of a pay claim for a Real Living Wage – currently set at £8.45 by the Living Wage Foundation.
Dominic Hinks, GMB organiser, said: “The way we have been treated by Arcadia is utterly shabby.”
“On the ground, the company’s reps have been very good – but we are getting nothing from head office.
“We have even offered up counter proposals – but all we get in return is silence.
“Now we have no choice but to take further action.”

The news comes as Arcadia boss Sir Philip Green is under fire over collapsed retailer BHS' pension deficit.
Last month, reports suggested that Green's offer to contribute to the BHS pension scheme was £100m less than the Pensions Regulator wanted.
The BBC has said that the regulator wants Green to stump up £350m, but he was only willing to put in £250m.
The retailer, which went into administration in April, was moved into liquidation last week. The liquidation process is being headed by FRP Advisory.
