Centre Court will not be the only familiar sight greeting Andy Murray when the British No1 emerges for his Wimbledon quarter-final against Vasek Pospisil this afternoon.

Murray has already faced the unseeded Canadian, set for a grand slam last-eight debut, three times in the past 12 months. The Scot, ranked 53 places above Pospisil, won on all three occasions without dropping a set, although each took place on the hard courts of Indian Wells, Rotterdam and Vienna.

Pospisil has pedigree on grass, having won the men’s doubles title at Wimbledon 12 months ago in tandem with American Jack Sock.

He has already tasted defeat to a Murray at the All England Club this year, with Andy’s elder brother Jamie and doubles partner John Peers ending Pospisil and Sock’s title defence in the third round.

Order of play

Centre Court
  • Pospisil v Murray [3]
  • Djokovic [1] v Cilic [9]
