Dean & DeLuca has become famous for its part in American films and books about serial killers, having featured in the 2001 film Hannibal and in the 1991 novel American Psycho.

London landlord Grosvenor has agreed the new lease with Dean & DeLuca for a 1,900 sq ft retail space.

The brand has nearly 20,000 followers on Twitter, where it describes itself as "the world's leading purveyor of fine food and epicurean products". The Mayfair outlet will be its first venture in Europe; there are currently 11 shops in the US and six in the Middle East and Asia.

Shoppers will be able to enjoy Dean & DeLuca's finest products when it moves in next year, including rib roast for £340 and a sour cherry pie for roughly £34.
