Northern Ireland election results: The seats are starting to fill up…
The seats are starting to be filled for the Northern Ireland assembly, with 12 of 108 being declared at time of writing.
The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) has so far secured four seats, but lost 2.8 per cent of the vote. Sinn Fein has also so far earned four seats, although it has lost 3.3 per cent of the vote.
The first seat to be called was in East Antrim, which went to DUP's David Hilditch.

The Northern Ireland Assembly has a proportional representation voting system, as opposed to first past the post.
According to the BBC, the election had a 52.8 per cent turnout.
