Omitted Theo helps England earn semi place

STUART PEARCE’S England Under-21 side cruised into the semi-finals of the European Championships after an impressive 2-0 victory over Spain.
Pearce controversially left out Arsenal winger Theo Walcott but his second half introduction spurred England to victory.
Just five minutes after he came on, Manchester United’s Fraizer Campbell netted the opener before Walcott then set up a second goal for Aston Villa’s James Milner, who earlier had a penalty saved.
England’s next group opponents, Germany, beat Finland 2-0 in the other game.
