La Ronde author Arthur Schnitzler’s play, known originally as Flirtation, nailed 1890s Viennese society with its look at the tragic couplings between four foolish young people. David Harrower’s new version at the Young Vic is directed with stylish panache by Swiss-born Luc Bondy, and stars tom Hughes, Kate Burdette, Natalie Dormer and Andrew Wincott. Cask ale week
Lovers of a frothing pint of heavy should set aside time for Cask Ale Week, the annual celebration of all things locally and lovingly brewed, which comes at the end of this month, running from 29 March to 5 April. Pubs all over London will be serving specially-brewed ales and bitters, while several local breweries are offering tours and visits to coincide. Henry Moore at Tate Britain
You may think you know sculptor Henry Moore’s work from his great public artworks of abstract, reclining figures found in sculpture parks and other open spaces around the country. However, the Tate’s superb retrospective is full of smaller works, and shows Moore’s progress from his humble beginnings in the 1920s, and reveals the probing, innovative instincts of one of the giants of Twentieth century art.
