Participation drop hits funding

RUGBY UNION: England chiefs the RFU have vowed to revive interest in the game after a fall in participation hit funding by over £1m. The number of adults playing weekly has fallen by 52,000 to 177,900, and chief executive John Steele said: “We are committed to creating a sound platform for growth.”
