Peerless Taylor powers to his 15th world title
PHIL TAYLOR earned the 15th world title of his glittering career last night after a thrilling PDC World Championship final at Alexandra Palace in London.
“The Power”, the defending champion, shrugged off a cagey opening to overwhelm unseeded Australian Simon Whitlock 7-3.
Whitlock opened up a 2-1 lead in the early stages but saw his hopes of glory crushed by Taylor’s five-set winning streak.
The underdog did threaten a come- back by claiming the ninth set, but it merely delayed Taylor’s clinching of yet another trophy and the £200,000 winner’s prize.
