Problems for BT broadband users across the UK: Services restored after usage problems this morning
BT said this afternoon that it had fixed the broadband problems that affected around 10 per cent of its internet customers this morning.
"We’re sorry that some BT and Plusnet customers experienced problems accessing some internet services this morning," the group said.
"Around 10 per cent of customers’ internet usage was affected following power issues at one of our internet connection partners’ sites in London. The issue has now been fixed and services have been restored.”
Broadband users faced connection problems this morning due to an engineering problem in London, with a number of customers taking to Twitter to alert BT to the problem.
Customers had complained that they either cannot access the internet or are experiencing extremely slow service.
According to internet service monitoring website downdetector.co.uk, UK customers were reporting problems since just after 8am.
Look like @bt_uk have national broadband issues again affecting most websites & email accounts. Probably the same issue as a few months ago.

The telecom was yesterday told by MPs that it needs to put its "house in order" – or face being split up. BT has faced a barrage of criticism in recent years over how it runs its broadband infrastructure business Openreach.
