Property of the Week: Order steak and cigars up to these two ‘bois’ pads above Scottish restaurant Boisdale Belgravia

When most of us are too tired to cook we simply order a takeaway, but these apartments in Mayfair have a more upmarket solution. Both are situated on top of Boisdale on North Row, part of the legendary chain of restaurants founded by Ranald Macdonald in 1986 to celebrate his true loves; Scotland, whisky, cigars and live jazz.

North Row, Mayfair, £1.275m & £1.125m

The owners of these “bois pads”, as they’re being marketed by estate agent Wetherell, will be able to order haggis, shellfish and chunky cigars from the menu in the restaurant downstairs for home delivery. Directly above is a two bedroom apartment, comprising 596sqft priced at £1.275m, while the other, a 537sqft one bedroom apartment, sits above that on the second floor priced at £1.125m.

Single person households are on the rise in Mayfair, according to research by Wetherell and Dataloft. Over 55 per cent of private rented housesholds and 52 per cent of homeowners in Mayfair are people living on their own. In the 1970s, Mayfair was dominated by 50-to-70-year-olds, but now almost 60 per cent of its residents are younger than 44, with 45 per cent aged between 25 to 44.

“The North Row ‘bois pads’ are an excellent opportunity for two or three young bachelors or bachelorettes looking for a pied-a-terre in the heart of Mayfair,” says Peter Wetherell, chief executive of the estate agency. “Not only could Boisdale deliver direct to their doors, but they can entertain downstairs and are also within walking distance of the rest of Mayfair’s restaurants. Discerning singletons will find it hard to find better located apartments.”

The apartments themselves feature ensuite bathrooms and fully fitted kitchenettes, while the two bedroom apartment has five sash windows with views towards Hyde Park. Marble Arch Underground Station is also a two minute walk away.
