Richard Branson shares images of Virgin Voyages cruise liner

Billionaire Richard Branson revealed images and details of his Virgin Voyages cruise line today, which will feature on-board gyms, 20 restaurants and cafes, and a record store.

Branson said he had been “dreaming” of starting a cruise business since the beginning of his career.

The company’s first ship Scarlet Lady is due to set sail next year to locations such as Miami, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

“I have been dreaming of starting a cruise line since my 20s and how I wanted to do things differently,” Branson said.

“Every single element of every day has been rethought and redesigned and I can’t wait to experience it all for real.”

The Scarlet Lady will also include music rooms, a live music venue and a nightclub.

Branson added: “I might be 68-years-young but I still enjoy a night out.

“I can’t wait to watch some live performances in the Red Room, or head over to The Manor for a lively drink and a show.


“I’d probably sneak off back to my suite before it transitions to a nightcap on the terrace and maybe a dip in the hot tub to relax before bed.”
