Rugby World Cup 2015: Tube travel busier than usual at Bank, Liverpool Street, Stratford and on Central, Jubilee and DLR lines as fans head to Queen Elizabeth stadium for France Romania game
Commuters heading home this evening may be in for a surprise.
Bank, Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf stations, along with the Central, Jubilee, DLR and Overground lines will be busier than usual because of the Rugby World Cup.
Transport for London (TfL) is warning passengers to expect more crowded trains and stations as fans head to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford to watch France versus Romania kick off at 8pm.
It's likely to get busier from around 5pm – prime commuting time – as people head to the stadium, as well as up to two hours after the match, around 9.40pm until midnight.
TfL has advised people to travel at other times if they can or find alternative routes and warns that buses in the area may be delayed, diverted or disrupted.
These are the affected routes:
- Central and Jubilee lines between Bond Street and Stratford
- DLR between Canning Town and Stratford International and Canary Wharf and Stratford
- London Overground between Highbury and Islington and Stratford
- TfL Rail between Liverpool Street and Stratford.
