IN-RUNNING TRADING HINTS

ASHRAM made all when winning from the front last time and I’m sure Frankie Dettori will employ similar tactics in tomorrow’s opener. He looks sure to trade short in-running, but it may be worth locking in a profit before they hit the furlong pole as he may well get reeled in by the likes of Ouqba.

I mentioned above how Richard Hills has improved as a jockey beyond recognition over the last 12 months and the highlights have been many well judged rides from the front. One of those rides came on Arwaah at Newbury in the summer and I expect her to be ridden in a similarly positive manner tomorrow. She’s another who may well have them all on the stretch at the furlong pole and could trade very short. Hills could easily repeat the trick on Akmal in the finale, as he has made all on both of his last two racecourse visits.
