Rush hour chaos for London commuters as Storm Imogen as high winds close Charing Cross and cause delays at Victoria station, London Bridge station, Waterloo East station and Cannon Street station
Londoners were facing misery on their evening commute as high winds from Storm Imogen caused delays across the London travel network.
Southeastern Rail warned that although Charing Cross and Waterloo East stations had reopened after lines were blocked earlier, there were still delays and disruption to services.
It also urged commuters using Cannon Street to allow extra time for because it was "very busy".
Southern Rail said there would be delays to services out of Victoria, thanks to speed restrictions – with the Gatwick Express was cancelled between Gatwick and Brighton, and Thameslink said there were delays of up to 30 minutes on its services because of signalling problems at Cricklewood.
Meanwhile, reports suggested part of the roof at London Bridge had been blown off by the high winds, which reached 100mph in parts of the country.
And to compound commuters' misery, the DLR was part suspended due to a faulty train at Bank.
