Hundreds of Ryanair customers have been stranded at Riga International Airport in Latvia after a number of flight delays.

Passengers trying to fly to Stansted Airport in London on the budget airline's FR2224 flight have been stuck in the Latvian capital since this morning. The flight was originally scheduled to leave Riga at noon and arrive in London at 13.05pm, however according to the Ryanair website, this flight now has an estimated arrival time of 2.20am on Tuesday – a delay of over 13 hours.

Angry customers have taken to Twitter to air their complaints over the delays, with one user stating that Ryanair staff have not given stranded passengers any information.

Still ignoring my request for info re FR2224 @Ryanair?
No one here is giving us any that's for sure.

He also provided an alarming update on the situation:

Gosh this stranded @ryanair #FR2224 is getting worse. There's a lady in Riga who is due to give birth in 3 days. No sign of plane

Ryanair has been contacted for comment.
