SHAW BLASTS GYM MONKEYS

ENGLAND lock Simon Shaw says modern players spend too long in the gym, at the expense of their technique. Shaw’s blast comes as national boss Martin Johnson faces a huge injury list for the autumn internationals. “We shouldn’t be trying to create gym monkeys with technique, we should be trying to create rugby players,” said the Wasps player. “We should be looking more at the skill side of the game.”
