Former England captain Alan Shearer believes the national side have made no progress under the management of Fabio Capello. Shearer hit out at the Italian tactician’s inconsistent team selections and formations and fears that even after nearly three years in the job, he is still nowhere near settled on who would compromise his best team. Shearer said: “Fabio has been here over two and a half years now and I’m not sure we’ve gone forward in that time. If every England player was fit I’m not sure he would actually know what system he wanted to play or what team he wanted to play.”
