Show your mother you care…in a luxe spa

If you don’t want to let Mothers Day, on 3 April, creep up on you, here are four great spa packages that will show your mother you care (and haven’t forgotten her).

CITY POINT CLUB, MOORGATE
Best for: the City mum (or the super-busy City daughter).

The package: Called “I Love Mum”, it certainly gets to the point. You’ll both spend a day at the club (a favourite with City high-flyers) and will lunch together in your robes, sip champagne, use the spa facilities and each have a short massage and facial. £199 for two. To book, email [email protected].

MANDARIN ORIENTAL, KNIGHTSBRIDGE
Best for: fashionista mums

The package: Go and paint the town red with this package of the same name, which combines every woman’s favourite shoe maker, Christian Louboutin, with a day of luxury at the Mandarin Oriental. First, nails are sorted with a red manicure for you both. Next: a private appointment at Louboutin’s Mount Street store. To celebrate your inevitable purchase, head to the Mandarin bar for cocktails. Next day – it’s a boozy brunch in Bar Boulud with a bottle of wine and two Bloody Marys. From £495 per person. Call 0207 235 2000 to book, or go to www.mandarinoriental.com.

CHI YU, MARYLEBONE
Best for: Holistic mums with a penchant for Eastern therapies

The package: A double massage. Therapists at this Japanese spa have some of the best technique in London. Mothers are tactfully pointed towards an anti-ageing Naturalift facial with a cleanse, enzyme peel, massage, mask and moisturising. Daughters receive the Chidoriya Japanese facial with rice bran, camellia oil and aduki beans. The highlight is the lymphatic drainage using a jade roller. You’ll both look like a million bucks afterwards. £195 for two people. www.chi-yu.co.uk

THE GROVE, HERTFORDSHIRE
Best for: Lovers of country house grandeur

The package: Set amid the glorious grounds of the Home Counties’ most opulent hotel, this package includes three treatments, lunch and plenty of lounging: Mum will have an ESPA massage and facial plus a manicure with Leighton Denny varnish. Next, she’ll have a two course lunch in the garden and use of the luscious Sequoia spa all day. Until 30 April. £155 per person. To book, call the Spa on 01923 294 294.
