Someone spent thousands on this one-off Jony Ive designed Apple iPad Pro
An iPad specially created by Apple's design guru Jony Ive and the only one of its kind in the world has been snapped up at auction for thousands of pounds.
The one-off yellow iPad Pro, along with a blue suede smart cover and orange leather Apple Pencil case, was bagged by an unknown buyer at the auction for a hefty £50,000.
That's roughly the equivalent of 73 of your standard iPad Pros (at £679 a pop), but the unique nature of the device – the only one in existence – makes it rather more desirable, for anyone who can afford to splash the cash, at least.

The auction for the Design Museum raised £1m in total with items designed by several world-renowned creators, including Marc Newson, Thomas Heatherwick and the late Zaha Hadid.
The proceeds will go toward funding the museum's new home in Kensington where it will open a new building this winter.
The iPad is also decorated with a rather nice detail that any Apple fan would probably kill for – an etching that reads "edition one of one". No wonder then that the iPad went for way more than the £10,000 – £15,000 the museum had expected.
