Renault announce Genii tie-up
FORMULA ONE: Renault have ended speculation as to their future in Formula One after forming a new partnership with Luxembourg-based management firm Genii Capital.

The French manufacturer has sold a large stake – believed to be around 80 per cent – to Genii, but the team will still run under the Renault name.

It’s 2,000-up for Johnson
RACING: Jump jockey Richard Johnson claimed the 2,000th winner of his career at Newbury yesterday.

Johnson reached the landmark after coming home on Fighting Chance, ahead of rival Tony McCoy. Johnson is second in the list of all-time winners for jump jockeys, behind McCoy, who has over 3,000.

Rodgers ousted at Reading
FOOTBALL: Brendan Rodgers last night left Reading by mutual consent after just over six months in charge.

Ex-Chelsea coach Rodgers, 36, took over the reigns at Madejski Stadium after a spell in charge at Watford, but just five league wins have left the Royals just one place clear of the Championship relegation zone.

QPR, meanwhile, said last night that suspended boss Jim Magilton and assistant John Gorman have left the club.
