Seymour Pierce warn Blues
FOOTBALL: Investment bank Seymour Pierce has threatened to sell Birmingham City unless owner Carson Yeung pays a £2.2m fee.
Seymour Pierce sued the club back in March to recover the fee it claimed it was owed for its role in Yeung’s takeover.
Yeung plans to appeal against the decision.
Nadal cruises through
TENNIS: Defending champion Rafael Nadal stormed into the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters with a crushing 6-0, 6-1 victory over unseeded German Michael Berrer.
Fourth seed Marin Cilic, however, was beaten 6-4, 6-4 by Albert Montanes.
Woods back in a fortnight
GOLF: World No1 Tiger Woods has announced he will play at the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina in two weeks’ time.
The 34-year-old says he planned a break after finishing joint fourth in the Masters at Augusta last week – his first tournament back from a five-month exile.
O’Sullivan in mood to entertain
SNOOKER: World No1 Ronnie O’Sullivan says he is out to entertain as he goes in search of a fourth World Championship at the Crucible, which starts today.
“Sometimes when I play decent then I know everybody’s having a good time and it’s like hosting your own party,” the ‘Rocket’ said.
