O’Sullivan’s in a deadlock
SNOOKER: World No1 Ronnie O’Sullivan was locked at 8-8 with rival Mark Williams as their second round World Championship clash looked set to go to the wire at the Crucible.
Ali Carter leads Joe Perry 10-6, while seven-time champion Stephen Hendry resumes at 4-4 with Mark Selby this morning. In the other game, Ding Junhui leads Shaun Murphy 5-3.
Fraser strolls home in Korea
GOLF: Australia’s Marcus Fraser shot a final round 69 to clinch a four-shot victory in the Ballantine’s Championship in Jeju, South Korea.
Fraser celebrated a first Tour win in seven years with Northern Ireland’s Gareth Maybin sharing second place with another Australian, Brett Rumford.
South African Ernie Els started the final day two shots behind but fell away to finish joint ninth after a 74.
Clijsters a doubt for Paris
TENNIS: Former world No1 Kim Clijsters is a major doubt for next month’s French Open after suffering a toe injury while playing in the Fed Cup on Saturday.
Clijsters sustained the injury in her 6-4, 6-2 win over Maret Ani, of Estonia, on Saturday, and could face six weeks on the sidelines, forcing her to miss the Roland Garros tournament on 23 May.
Fitness trainer Sam Verslegers said: “We won’t be taking any risks.”
Mathers leads Wolves’ charge
RUGBY LEAGUE: Full-back Richie Mathers scored two tries as Warrington continued their pursuit of Super League leaders Wigan with a 40-6 thrashing of bottom club Catalans Dragons.
David Hodgson scored a hat-trick as Huddersfield dismantled Crusaders 38-10, while Bradford secured a third successive win with a 40-4 crushing of Hull KR.
