Standard Life lures Countdown star Rachel Riley to pull the pub quiz crowds
Moving on to pensions now, but oddly not away from pubs, it seems Standard Life is continuing its theme of using celebrities and drinking holes to get us to think about our pensions.
Last month the pensions provider published a video featuring Gogglebox’s Steph and Dom, talking about their long-term savings with some people in a pub.
This time around it has roped in Countdown star Rachel Riley to host a pub quiz in St John’s Wood, at which a pensions expert from Standard Life will be present to answer everyone’s questions.
On 22 January, The New Inn will be transformed into the Prosperous Arms for a night, where Riley will lead the public in a free pub quiz, with free food and drinks (first come first served, you need to sign up). It must be pretty difficult to engage the public in pensions chat. At least Standard Life seems to know where the British public’s hearts lie. The local boozer…
