Standon Calling festival: A photo-journal of this amazing festival

Festival season is coming to a close. We sent photographer Mike Williams to Standon Calling to take a photo-journal of the event, from the amazing performances to the quieter moments and the food wagons. Here’s what he found.

A counterpoint to the energy of the big stages and activities was provided by The Magic Teapot, a nomadic type tent with a traditional wood fire serving hot drinks as well as a place to relax and join in a sing-song until early in the morning
Launching the Friday evening main stage music, Scouting for Girls had the crowd’s arms in the air and screaming for more. Roy Stride played the crowd to perfection, despite being distracted by a trio of pugs rocking along to the music directing in-front of the stage

Festival goers were spoilt for choice with a vast choice of food ranging from traditional fish and chips to roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, slow roasted pulled pork to wraps, toasties to tex-mex
Friday evening also brought Anastasia exploding onto the stage in a blaze of energy as she belted out some of her biggest hits as well a cover of sweet child of mine which had the audience going wild

A newcomer to the festival scene, 16 year old flowerovlove (Joyce Cissy) certainly didn’t display any nerves as she entranced  the audience and kept the rapt through a journey of reflection on sustainability and looking after our planet
