Tevez claims his beef is with City hierarchy and not his manger
MANCHESTER CITY captain Carlos Tevez last night reiterated his desire to leave the club and turned the heat on the club’s hierarchy.
Tevez confirmed he had handed in a transfer request, which has been flatly rejected, but revealed he has no personal gripe with his manager Roberto Mancini.
Tevez, currently on holiday in Tenerife, said: “I need to clear my head and think because this is an important part of my career. My feelings have not changed and it is regrettable that we have reached this situation.
“I wish to clarify that I have no personal issue with the manager Roberto Mancini. The owner has been very generous with what he has offered to me. I would like to thank Sheik Mansour for his understanding.”
Tevez also outlined his anger at club officials who blame his long-term mentor, Kia Joorabchian, for his desire to seek a fresh challenge.
“I have not been influenced by anyone else in making this decision,” said Tevez. “It is something I have felt for some time. I wanted to leave in the summer but was convinced to stay. I hugely resent the management’s suggestions that I have been unduly influenced by others.”
