Tevez raises the roof as Hammers make a point

CARLOS TEVEZ stole the limelight as an emotional return to Upton Park ended in a rather tepid end-of-season stalemate.
Tevez came off the substitute’s bench on 73 minutes to the biggest cheer of the day from Hammers fans, who idolised him during his popular spell at the club in 2006-07.
And the City striker donned a West Ham shirt at the end by way of thanks, inset.
Luis Boa Morte, playing his first game since the opening day of last season, put the Hammers in front on 17 minutes after he was set-up by Alessandro Diamanti’s brilliant back-heel.
But City were level four minutes later when Adam Johnson’s cross from the right was headed home at the far post by Shaun Wright-Phillips – all 5ft 5in of him!
Tevez’s introduction raised the roof – indeed the Argentinian almost won it for City, only to chip a late effort just over the bar.
Elsewhere, a brilliant injury-time winner from Diniyar Bilyaletdinov gave Everton a 1-0 win over relegated Portsmouth, while a Richard Dunne own goal ensured a top-half finish for Blackburn, as they beat Aston Villa by the same score.
Goals from Kevin Davies and Ivan Klasnic helped Bolton to a 2-1 win over Birmingham, who netted through James McFadden, while Wolves recovered from Kenwyne Jones’ early strike to beat Sunderland 2-1 with goals from Kevin Doyle and Adlene Guedioura on target.
Liverpool finished with a disappointing goalless draw at relegated Hull City.
