In 1985 I was surrounded by ‘ghettoblasters’ playing tunes such as Journal of an Airman and 30-Love. In 1987 they were joined by Rodney Allen performing Days of 49. All the tracks were recorded be the Blue Aeroplanes who were quite prolific between 1984 and 1990. Today they would have to go some to match the proliferation of the David Evans trained seven-year-old horse Aeroplane. For the third week in a row he has popped up in the two handicaps that interest me.

Today he runs in the 5.35pm at Wolverhampton. This race is over nine and a third furlongs and Aeroplane has never managed to win past seven. Jamie Spencer is in the saddle and has provided the partnership the last two occasions the horse has won. Will this make the difference? I don’t think so. In actual fact I think the stable will win the race with their other runner FULL TOSS. Keep a close eye on the market with Oddschecker as I can see there being value in one or two places.

On Saturday, Aeroplane is due to line up again in the 2.45pm at Lingfield. To my eye this actually looks the weaker of the two races and if he does turn up for this event he is definitely one to keep on side but I wouldn’t go backing him.

The horse I would like to back is UNBREAK MY HEART. Compare all the odds Saturday morning and see if anyone is being bold. I would be looking for a little bit of 9’s or better, but don’t let a price put you off.
