I hope you backed Dirar (14/1 winner of Wednesday’s Ebor) which I advised in this column last week… let’s hope we can keep up the good work. Well, I’ve been to Amsterdam, Haarlem, Zwolle, Utrecht and Rotterdam, but I’ve never been to the ZUIDER ZEE. John Gosden is in top form and Richard Mullen should steer this son of Sakhee home at York (1.45pm) today. Moving from Holland to the borders of Uruguay and another watery feature RIO DE LA PLATA will be carrying my money come 2.15pm today. Frankie should have a good ride here and can show Rainbow Peak a clean set of shoes and hopefully a blue and white flag will be flying from the York stand. However, by 3.25pm they will have to replace the Uruguayan flag with the STARSPANGELEDBANNER. Aiden O’Brien’s charge will be difficult to beat today (York 3.25pm) and 9/4 with Paddy Power looks a magnificent price, especially with his high draw.
