FOR ME it really is back to getting the All Weather form sorted and trying to pick off some good value winners over the winter months. I like the jumps but I have found over the past few seasons that the flat offers some great value at this time of year.
The races that catch the eye are the Class 2 & 3 handicaps over five to 10 furlongs. Tomorrow there is a very interesting seven furlong handicap at Lingfield (2.30pm). Elna Bright could bounce back to form with Kieren Fallon on board but based on his last two runs I think we can discount him. Bravo Echo and Yer Woman need to drop a few more pounds, while Autumn Blades may not be fully tuned up.
All the runners would have to be at their peak to beat Malcheek in a seven furlong dash on Polytrack but on this occasion I reckon the draw (14 of 14) may be his undoing. It therefore leaves the door ajar for WOODCOTE PLACE (5% win) to break his duck (0 from 10) on Polytrack. Richard Kingscote gets the leg up on Pat Chamings’ runner. With a 20% strike rate (47-232 rides) over the past five seasons, Kingscote should have the course knowledge to get this son of Lujain home in front.
The Listed contest at 3.05pm is an intriguing race and I like the look of NIDEEB (5% win), who bolted up at Kempton recently and can show further improvement here to take the prize.
