I hope you drank plenty of Guinness yesterday and you are feeling ready to take on the bookies once more today. It’s World Hurdle day at Cheltenham plus there are plenty of large fields on the supporting card.

Tuesday’s results are in and based on our £1,000 bankroll, we made a profit of £377.46. We had two good winners, first and last race, but we were mightily unlucky with the head defeat of The Package who would have guaranteed a profitable week. Yesterday’s results will be in tomorrow’s paper.

Today is a quieter day for me on the betting front. Some may prefer to kick on and if that’s you, don’t go betting more than 10% of your bank per race.

HEY BIG SPENDER is my idea of a value bet in the first at Cheltenham, 11s should be available so have something on each way (2.5% e/w). ALFIE SHERRIN (4%) is available at 4s with best odds guaranteed but I doubt we will need it as Harry Findlay may get stuck in. I can’t get too excited about anything else apart from a few shillings on BALLABRIGGS (3% e/w) in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup.

HEY BIG SPENDER (2.5% e/w), ALFIE SHERRIN (4%) TRENCHANT (0.5% e/w) BUENA VISTA (0.5% e/w), TRANQUIL SEA (1%), LIE FORRIT (0.5% e/w), SUNNYHILLBOY (2%), BALLABRIGGS (3% e/w)
